Theater of the Oppressed students participate in a team building exercise, 2011.

Welcome to FHS Drama!

There are two theater classes offered at  Flushing High School for the 2012-2013 school year.

Acting I includes the fundamentals of acting in order to tune the actor's instrument- the body, voice, and mind.  The class includes work on monologues, scenes, basic playwriting,  spoken word and acting for film.  All students compete in the annual Poetry Out Loud competition.

Acting II builds off the foundations laid in Acting I.  Actors are stretched to act, direct, and write original scenes as well as enact longer, more challenging roles asked of prominent playwrights.  Students compete in the annual English Speakers' Union Shakespeare competition.

Acting II: 9:42-10:29, room 181

Acting I: 10:33-11:21, room 214

Acting II: 11:25-12:13, room 181

Acting I: 1:08-1:55, room 155
